Built in 1976, Les Karellis ski resort is located in the commune of Montricher-Albanne, about 18 km from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. It extends from 1 650 to 2 495 m. Its name comes from the patois " karèle " which designates a grass that grows in the mountain pastures. The smooth grass used to allow the shepherds to slide on it with a board or a coat, to pass the time. The resort has been awarded the "Famille Plus", "Nordic Site" and "Nouvelles glisses" labels. It is entirely pedestrian, offering free parking in the immediate vicinity.
