Located in the heart of the Bauges massif, in the Northern Pre-Alps, the commune of Le Châtelard-en-Bauges is inhabited by nearly 700 residents, known as Castellardinoises and Castellardinois. Covering 1,800 hectares, the area has an average altitude of 750 meters, and its highest peak is the Rossane, at 1,891 meters. Le Châtelard is home to the headquarters of the Communauté de Communes du Cœur des Bauges and the Parc naturel régional du massif des Bauges. The picturesque houses cling to the slopes of the majestic Mount Julioz. Le Châtelard represents an optimal starting point for various explorations and walks within the Bauges massif.
