Almost as big as the village, the castle of Eurre dominates a group of houses closely joined together. It was built on the site of a Roman supply base by the Lord of Urre in the 11th century. This fortified castle with massive ramparts underwent major modifications in the 16th century. The partially destroyed dungeon was then rehabilitated into a chapel and the southern facade saw the opening of large and high mullioned windows in Renaissance style. Eurre is now an active rural town that retains an agricultural activity. The town is now known for housing the ecosite of the Val de Drôme, stronghold of the local Biovallée.
