(Vonnas) Vonnas has its origins from prehistoric préhistorique because of the various objects found at the time. Later, in antiquity, Vonnas was a relatively large town and a population centre. In the Gallo era, Vonnas, which was referred to as «volnatis» or «vulnatis». has, it seems, been prosperous: many of the Roman and Roman remains found in different points of the commune attest to this.
