The village of Rancé, on the Dombes plateau, is concentrated around its Saint-Pierre church. It is a remarkable building, the oldest monument in the village, and vestiges of the Romanesque period in rolled pebbles from the 12th century have been found. The portal of the church, cleared during a recent restoration, contains two bas-reliefs representing lions. Also worth seeing is the classified site of the Pierre Brune, a granite megalith of glacial origin, carried by a moraine from the Mont-Blanc massif. 250 km of walking and cycling routes have been developed by the Dombes Saône Vallée community of communes to discover the area.
