The Champsaur valley, located east of the Dévoluy, is crossed by the Route Napoléon. Green and wooded, this valley is divided into the Drac Noir and Drac Blanc. The Drac Noir has carved out a valley suitable for winter sports. The initial prosperity of Champsaur, well before the advent of "white gold", was based on agriculture. The land is very fertile thanks to the crystalline and calcareous elements brought by the waters of the Drac.
