AU GRAND SAINT-ANTOINE

Charcuterie
4.3/5
3 reviews

An address that is no longer known in the city, but the Little Futé recommends again and again! Located opposite the metro and tram station Noailles, the boutique carries a history of Marseille. In 1926, it was the Cheese Factory of the East that left the charcutier Yves Baussens in 1972, and it is now and since 1988, the son, the talented Emmanuel Charcutier-Catcher, who took over the family torch and holds this address where the whole Marseilles press. A clientele of accents and Marseille cream (we will not give names!). In the apostle of Saint-Antoine (Saint-Antoine patron des charcutiers), Emmanuel is only good. The Petit Futé has tested the dried duck duck for you. Don't miss the homemade sausage, homemade ham made, divine, bullnuts, but also fresh, homemade dishes that change daily. Note an excellent smoked salmon. In new 2017: delicious fish terraces. An address like more, to discover or rediscover!

What characterises this bakery is first of all a remarkable welcome and a variety of breads. Every day, there are different breads coming out of the furnaces. Bread in sausage and red wine, figatelli, flax seeds, figs… We also offer very good pastries, but those which must not be missed under any pretext call Royal Chocolate and Chocolate Pear Mousse.

CAVES FONDERE

Wine Cellar Wine House

Here we advise novices for their beginnings in the discovery of the nectar of this nectar, help to choose the ideal bottle, depending on whether it is intended for a man or a woman… and finally we are refining the tastes of connoisseurs to make them discover a bottle more appreciated than the previous one. Indeed, this cellar regularly runs its stock by sourcing from new producers. In short, here the advice is paramount, the welcome is charming and the contents of the cellar enchanting. France is the country of wine par excellence, but not all French are amateurs capable of making the difference between a coteaux-en-provence or a Bordeaux! You can only come out of this place enchanted by the good mood of the boss, and the water in the mouth, impatient to taste this little treasure that was helped to find you.

This early one didn't have enough space inside a already large store, so he started to trespass on the street. The salads then turned off and exotic fruits, coconuts, papayas, mangoes, fruit of dragon, Jacques, fruits of passion, mangosteen, feijoa, tamarind, rambutan etc… to invade the pavement, for the greatest pleasure of all, with an incomparable choice. The market like you love!

LE GLACIER DU ROI

Glacier
3.5/5
6 reviews

With two locations in Marseille, including the historic Panier, Glacier du Roi has built up a fine reputation over the years. With its production laboratory visible from the store, the emphasis is on the artisanal side of production, with inspiring flavours: turnip, apricot verbena, mango... Sorbets and ice creams are available in scoops and cups, as well as in large quantities with containers so you can take them home with you. The only snag, and not the least, is that the prices are not cheap, being higher than those of other artisanal producers in Marseille. And yet there's an explosion of flavors in these ice creams, which lack a little taste. As for the addition of Chantilly cream, billed at two euros, not to mention the plastic cups which, while attractive, are thrown away once the scoop is finished, it's all a bit clumsy and not too up to date ecologically speaking on the last point. A great success thanks to its location and the many tourists in the area.

Founded in 1781, the oldest bakery in Marseille has been preparing for over two centuries the famous Marseille navettes, inimitable, whose recipe is still secretly kept. Traditionally, they are eaten by candlelight. It's a matter of taste, but many say that you can find the best shuttles in town here.
