The Trolleybus is one of the oldest discotheques in Marseille. This is a fact but it is still in the air of time and eternal youth. The public is rather young but mixes during the night. The musical program is rather focused on electronic music. The customers feel good and not judged, we can only appreciate this kind of place which is widespread in Northern Europe but still too rare in our Mediterranean cities.

Halfway between the Palais Longchamp and the Réformés, a new bar has been opened to liven up the pleasant boulevard Longchamp. A beautiful, wide terrace for a new establishment opened by a young team eager to offer a place where having a drink rhymes with conviviality between friends and tasting aperitif platters on the go. It's a great concept and a real hit with a young clientele who have become fans of the restaurant's excellent cocktails. At lunchtime, we serve a burrata, a sandwich of the day and a few simple suggestions on the slate. A friendly, smiling welcome, a fine wine list and live music at weekends.

Le Cancan or New Cancan, depending on the name, is THE reference for gay clubbing in Marseille. Founded in 1991 by Michel Piacenza, it's just a stone's throw from the Canebière, and attracts a gay and gay-friendly clientele every Saturday in a supercharged atmosphere. In the 1970s, the creator of Le Cancan created one of the city's first openly gay bars. Le Moulin is a former neighbourhood cinema and theatre, formerly known as the "Moulin bleu", not far from the enormous Dome. He has built up a reputation of esteem in the music world over the course of his previous programming, which has given the turners confidence. If you are told Noir Désir in Marseille in 1989, look no further, it was at the Moulin. Nick Cave, My Bloody Valentine, Tricky, Placebo, Oasis, Femi Kuti as well. On the Quai Rive-Neuve proudly stands the Théâtre de La Criée, the national theater housed in Marseille's former fish market. A former meeting place for fishermen and fishmongers, it is now a mythical cultural meeting place under the sensitive, modern direction of Macha Makeïeff since 2011. According to its director, the theater is "a factory of images and the imaginary, open to all". A neat decoration and in the air of time, plunging plants, light wood, space and a cosy feeling which already conquered more than one curious. Deïa's program includes coffee specialties, lattes (including amazing beet and charcoal colored ones), food from breakfast to lunch and the possibility of brunches all day long. Bowls, salads, healthy sandwiches, it's well done and totally in tune with the times. An address to discover and to adopt without delay. The only regret is that the atmosphere is a bit too "influencer" of the clientele, more busy taking pictures than having a good time.

At the bottom of the Cours Franklin-Roosevelt, a discreet address that deserves to be known, a few steps from the Réformés. Behind an attractive frontage, we enter a rather surprising café, with its counter and the smiling welcome of the owner, then a room in enfilade where you can enjoy your coffee, tea or pastry on a sofa or on cushions. A Zen place, which offers teas and herbal teas, ayurvedic infusions and homemade blends, some with CBD. On the pastry side, gluten-free, vegan, classic, all homemade by the chef, just like the quiches and cakes served for lunch. We like to spend a relaxing and greedy moment there.
