A fortified medieval village built on the steep cliffs overlooking the Siagne River, where crops were stored during the Roman conquest before being transported to the port of Forum Julii (Fréjus), earning it the nickname of "Caesar's granary". In the 14th century, at the request of the Count of Provence, it was closed by three fortified gates in order to protect the population from bandits, looting and epidemics. The medieval castle, property of the illustrious Cresp family, now houses the town hall. Along the steep streets, you will discover the remains of the ramparts, the vaulted passages and the lintelled doors.
