It's no coincidence that the Samara archaeological park was built in La Chaussée-Tirancourt. Numerous human bones dating back over 8,000 years have been discovered in the commune, along with the remains of various objects and animal remains (birds, fish, etc.). Excavations have revealed centuries of habitation, from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic. Gallic ruins have also been found. La Chaussée-Tirancourt boasts a Gallic fortified camp, one of the most remarkable in northern France. The oppidum housed thousands of men, and was used by Caesar during his visits to the region.
