Picquigny is famous for its fortified castle, built in 613, but also as the place where the Treaty of Picquigny was signed on August 29, 1475, between King Louis XI of France and King Edward IV of England, putting a definitive end to the Hundred Years' War. This was the château of the Vidames d'Amiens. Erected in the early 11th century, the building formed a parallelepiped with circular towers at the corners, following the classic layout of the early 13th century. Rebuilt in the 14th century and completed in the 16th and 17th centuries, it suffered considerable damage during the First World War. Nevertheless, the remains remain imposing.
