This commune hides the remains of a huge castle nicknamed the "Little Versailles" in reference to its ancient water garden similar to the Grand Canal. History tells us that the place was the refuge of Ganelon, a character in the Song of Roland, before he was killed at Roncesvalles. The different lords who succeeded each other have contributed to the history, participating in the Battle of Bouvines in the 13th century, then in the Battle of Azincourt in the 15th century. The castle was partially destroyed in 1848: today, only abandoned remains remain. During your walk, the Saint-Pierre church and its sundial are worth a visit.
