Craonnelle lies to the south-west of Craonne, on the D18, which is also part of the Chemin des Dames. Between the two, the Craonnelle national necropolis, created in 1920, is the burial place of almost 4,000 remains of soldiers who fell in the fighting on the Chemin des Dames (almost half of whom lie in two ossuaries), as well as several graves of Belgian and Commonwealth servicemen. To the west of the village, as you reach the plateau, is the Monument des Basques, or 36ᵉ Infantry Division Memorial, erected in 1928. The Sainte-Benoîte church, dating from 1932, is the last point of interest in this small commune.
