Oulch-la-Vallée-Foulon is a village located south of Hurtebise farm, below the Chemin des Dames. Along the route of the D18 CD is the Caverne du Dragon, a memorial to the battles that marked the region in 1914-1918. This former 16th-century stone quarry was overrun by soldiers, and smoke poured out of every orifice, hence the name given to it by the Germans. Nearby, you'll discover La Constellation de la douleur, a group of nine giant statues by Christian Lapie. This work pays tribute to the soldiers from sub-Saharan Africa who died in combat in 1917 during the Battle of the Chemin des Dames.
