Travel Guide Saint-Sigismond

On the borders of the three departments Vendée, Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime, and in the heart of the "wet" part of the natural park of the Marais Poitevin, Saint-Sigismond benefits from a privileged situation. The commune has several landing points allowing access to the Vieille Autize canal. This one connects the port of Courdault to the lock near the Grande Bernegoue (Maillé) and beyond, to the Sèvre Niortaise. A landing stage allows you to visit part of these canals. Typical flat boats, with or without a boatman, are offered in the summer to discover a little frequented area of the marsh, and a walk at dusk.
