Adjacent to St-Gilles Croix de Vie, the town of Givrand is bordered to the south by the marshes of Jaunay at the confluence of the rivers of Jaunay and Gué-Gorand. Moreover, the stream, the Gué-Gorand, which meanders on its southern side, would be according to some at the origin of the name Givrand. To the west, a dune line separates Givrand from the Atlantic Ocean. Take a tour of the Martellières with its underground passage, its forge and its mill, which have now disappeared. Because of its proximity to the resort of St-Gilles Croix de Vie and with attractive real estate prices compared to those of the coast, it has seen its population largely increase in about fifteen years
