Close to La Ferté-Bernard with a craft zone that houses the Socopa slaughterhouse, with several hundred employees and the largest in Europe. Hundreds of cattle and pigs are slaughtered there every day to provide 40% of the meat produced in France. Cherré-Au is also a grouping of two villages with a beautiful covered wash-house, two remarkable churches and a castle in its immense romantic domain. The Château du Haut-Buisson built in 1847 is a neo-Louis XV style folly where the Princess of Monaco, Alice Heine, used to receive the personalities of the time, including Pierre Loti, with great pomp. When the princess died in 1925, the site was bequeathed to the universities of Paris to house a department of plant biology. The commune announced its will to rehabilitate the park and the houses located there to establish a leisure area. In the same year, Stéphane Bern, the historian in charge of the government's mission on heritage, announced his intention to restore the castle. Case in progress
