Situated about thirty kilometres from Laval, Craon is a country market town. Famous for its flax yarn, with numerous salt lofts and 12th century market halls reputed to be among the largest in France, it saw its medieval walls in charge of guarding the Breton border disappear around 1820. Its castle is now the major tourist attraction. In Craon, you will also discover several half-timbered houses on the Place des Halles. The town also has a neo-Gothic style church.
