Fontaine DanielThe village is the last to be part of the family of small character cities. In 1805, the abbey buildings founded in the th century and several nearby farms were purchased by an Englishman, Mr. Armfield. He establishes a spinning and later a mechanical weave. The niece of her daughter married Mr. Martin. As director of this company, the Denis family gradually builds the village of Fontaine-Daniel. The spinning, operated by the water of the pond, then by a horse riding and finally by a steam machine, employs 92 workers in 1832. Martin Denis, with a social peace objective, then creates the village square by building three-storey collective housing. Almost all of the individual houses and collective equipment will be the work of Jean Denis (1923-1968): in 1967 he installed the building of the Paintings of Mayenne. It is now the seventh generation of Denis who is at the head of the plant. Today, the village has 110 almost all dwellings occupied by most of the 180 company employees and a few retirees.
