Brissac-Loire-Aubance was born of the merger of ten neighboring communes, whose chief town, Brissac-Quincé, gives its name to the area. The Aubance is the river that runs through it. The result is an eclectic commune, highly representative of Anjou. While the northern quarter of the town is part of the Val de Loire area (a Unesco World Heritage site), in the south you'll come across numerous troglodyte shelters and dolmens all over the place! It's a surprising place where viticulture is not left out, since it's here that the anjou-villages and coteaux-de-l'aubance appellations are produced.
