The small town of Corcoué sur Logne, "le petit bois" in Welsh, is part of historic Brittany in the traditional country of Retz and the historical Nantes region. Between the 12th and 18th centuries, Corcoué was part of the Marches communes de Bretagne and Poitou, which established a special heritage status. At the entrance to the village stands the imposing "Oak Louis XIII" which is one of those trees associated with a historical event, since Louis XIII, by going to besiege the Huguenots, would have made a stop there in 1628. Then at the top of a hillside, erected on the site of a vast Merovingian cemetery (from which ancient sarcophagi have been extracted and are preserved in Nantes), we can see the Notre-Dame-la-Blanche chapel which was built in the 15th century and where about fifteen people were massacred in 1794. Walking enthusiasts can walk along the hiking trail of the Logne valley and the Batallières woods located at the junction of the three historic villages that have merged to become Corcoué-sur-Logne. A heritage trail of about 5 km around Saint-Étienne and Saint-Jean will allow you to visit the architectural, cultural and historical treasures. The Maison de l'Eau et des Paysages offers activities to discover the environment.
