At the crossroads of the three ancient provinces of Brittany, Anjou and Poitou, the commune of Boussay is closely linked to the river that borders it, the Sèvre Nantaise. Until recently, Boussay's history was closely linked to this river: its waters, held back by dams - known as "chaussées" - once turned the paddlewheels of numerous mills and weaving mills. Rue des Tisserands and L'Auberge des Trois Moulins are reminders of this not-so-distant past. Hiking trails criss-cross the commune, and there are numerous calvaries and oratories to be seen on your stroll.
