On the Canche, this ancient city received counts of Saint-Pol in 1218, the title of commune. Nearby is a very nice seventeenth century, Cercamp castle. On the left bank, it was built on the location of a Cistercian monastery founded in 1137 and houses the grave of the counts of Saint-Pol. The architect of the castle is also the one who drew the plans of the abbey of Valloires. Another beautiful building of the city, the church Saint-Hilaire and its imposing porch-bell, built in the sixteenth century and restored in the nineteenth century. Behind the city hall, a very pleasant public garden at the foot of the feudal moodle of the xiith century welcomes visitors. To see also, the Wintenberger mill, which traces the agricultural history of the region with numerous documents and tools, especially farm machinery Wintenberger.
