It is obvious that this rural village has something to do with apple trees. Its name comes from the Latin pomarium vicus meaning "village of apple trees"! Located 15 km from Moissac in the middle of the Garonne and Barguelonne valleys, its history dates back to antiquity. In the Middle Ages, Pommevic was the seat of an important priory of the Abbey of Moissac. You can admire the church of Saint-Denis, which still has the southern wall, the base of the bell tower and the apse from its Romanesque foundation. The village is also crossed by the Canal des Deux Mers offering a very soothing setting thanks to the softness of its calm waters.
