If time seems to have stood still in Brassac, it's because the walls of its homes and the narrow streets of its center still preserve the silhouettes and scars of its history. The epic story of this town in the Monts de Lacaune begins in the 4th millennium BC. Legend has it that a Gallic chieftain, Baccius, gave his name to the town. We know with even greater certainty that the Saracens, defeated by Charles Martel, found refuge here. Today, Brassac is a village full of character, offering up its architectural treasures for all to see, and hinting at many secrets that the river's crystalline laughter does its best to muffle.
