Just outside Vic-Fezensac lies this quiet little village of just over 300 inhabitants. Its history goes back two thousand years. The fortified castelnau was built in the 10th century. The tower in the center of the village marked the entrance in the 14th century. Fifteen meters high, it is the only vestige of this period. It was converted into a prison in the 18th century. At the top of its roof is a superb carillon. Don't look for the church, which was destroyed in the 16th century: all that remains is the Notre-Dame du Bernet chapel, to the south of the village. Its bell tower features half-timbering and a slate roof.
