Travel Guide Escles

The Saint Martin Valley, also described as a religions vallon, accompanies the course of the Mâdon over 4 km. He has kept many traces of human activity. In particular, there are the quarries found everywhere in the valley. This exploitation is probably very old because Gallo-Roman necropolises and necropolises have been updated around Escles. The châtelet is a spur that may have been a Celtic town and surely a feudal castle. There is also the eremitical habitat. The cave of St. Martin and other rocks housed hermits.
