The capital of slimness owes its reputation to one man, Doctor Bagard, physician to the King of Poland, Stanislas. In 1760, the latter had asked his doctor for a report on the city's springs. The medicinal virtues of the springs quickly spread, and the nobility made this spa a fashionable town. Famous names such as the Shah of Persia or Queen Isabella of Spain came here to take the waters. Nice people for a station which has calcic waters and full of magnesium, springing from the ground at 10 °C. The bottling of the water was born from the thermalism. 800 million bottles of Contrex are sold each year
