Uckange is part of the Val de Fensch urban community. The commune is close to the Lorraine Regional Nature Park and is home to the Jardin des traces. Listed as a historic monument, the U4 blast furnace, with its surrounding installations, is a striking emblem of the great economic era of the Fensch valley and thus of Uckange. The first traces of the Uckange people date back more than 6,000 years, as we learned from the discovery of remains between Ébange and Uckange in the 1960s. Situated in an area that was hotly contested in the Middle Ages, the commune of Uckange was alternately Luxembourgish, German and French over the centuries.
