Fameck is located 25 km north of Metz and is part of the district of Thionville-Ouest, it has 12 441 inhabitants. A city that is very interesting in its geographical positioning with direct access to the major highway routes of the A 30 and VR 52 motorway, Fameck consists of the meeting of five previously agricultural hamlets: Budange, Edange, Fameck, Morlange and Rémelange. The working cities Bosment (towards the 1930 s) and Oury (circa 1965) must be added. At the end of the s, the construction of a new city began to meet the growing need for the iron and steel housing and for the reception of French returnees from Algeria. The Grand Fameck has just been born.
