A former village of winemakers, Mont had an important cloches foundry from 1908 to 1826, created by the Farnier family. Campanaire art has enjoyed a certain reputation, far beyond our borders. At its peak, it produced 1 200 big bells, smaller ones and chimes. The largest recorded weighed 5 724 kg and that of the Petit Bourdon of Verdun Cathedral weighs 2 900 kg. The artisanal activity did not resist the separation of Church and State and closed its doors in 1908. It then stocka hay and grain, pigs. The building was converted into a secondary residence and restored. Recognizable to its particular roof, it has recently been a very refined guest house and culture.
