This new commune in the Lozère département came into being on January1, 2016, bringing together the villages of Saint-Andéol-de-Clerguemort and Saint-Frézal-de-Ventalon. Situated on the southern slopes of the Ventalon, the commune is scattered in the folds of the mountain and still preserves traces of a rich history. These include the temple of Lézinier, destroyed during the Wars of Religion, rebuilt in the 19th century and restored by the Parc des Cévennes. In this labyrinth of valleys, you'll also find a wide variety of hiking trails. One of these is the birthplace of the Gardon d'Alès, the river that flows through Alès.
