Prinsuéjols-Malbouzon is a commune resulting from the merger of Prinsuéjols and Malbouzon. In the middle of the Lozère Aubrac, Prinsuéjols forms the transition between the granitic Margeride and the basalt of the Aubrac. Its highest point, the Truc des Coucuts, is home to a series of basalt organs, evidence of ancient volcanic activity. Occupied since ancient times, Prinsuéjols, whose name means "village in the clearing", is home to a 12th-century church and the Château de la Baume, a small Versailles in Lozère. Malbouzon, on the Camino de Compostela, boasts a church built by the monks of Conques (12th-century apse) and remodeled around 1950.
