When you arrive in Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare, you immediately feel the density of a bubbling past. Ancient medieval city, whose old quarter of Pioch still illustrates its contours, it has preserved many vestiges of its activities of nail-making, hooping, spinning and embroidery. A 12th century Romanesque bell-tower church serves as a reminder of the town's religious past, also represented by the former church of Saint-Pierre-de-Neyran with its beautiful bell tower and the three chapels containing interesting altarpieces and paintings with coats of arms. In the main bell tower, a carillon of seven harmonized bells - which plays different tunes every day at 11:52 and 18:52 - has been set up. An originality that seduces the inhabitants, tourists and pilgrims on the Way of St. James for its musicality and beauty.
