The prestigious and imposing collegiate church of Saint-Etienne serves as a landmark for this small wine-growing village that embraces the Canal du Midi, which can be followed on foot or by bicycle for beautiful walks in the heart of an environment that can be discovered along the water. Occupied by the Romans, then by the Visigoths, of which there are still some remains, Capestang (Hérault department, 3 270 inhabitants, according to the census of 2018) retains its rich past the collegiate church, southern Gothic style remained unfinished, the castle summer residence of the prelate narbonnais which now houses the fire station, and the remains of a Romanesque church.
