Although the Réau area has yielded archaeological remains dating back to Antiquity, it was only mentioned in 1350 under the name of Rodolium and, in 1369, under the name of Ruel. Today, this village, nestled between fields and home to a 13th-century church, adjoins the Safran aerospace museum, which houses a collection of engines and equipment that have marked the history of aviation. The sky may have been its vocation, since on July 17, 1771, a meteor observed in England and France is said to have ended its journey here... Réau is also the place to see a macaroon-making demonstration at the eponymous domaine.
