Attested as early as the5th century, Lieusaint is mentioned as a locus sanctus in the 10th century, in memory, it is said, of ceremonies held there in Gallic times. Legend has it that its forest was home to a spring, the residence of a fairy known as Dame Bleue, whom only Saint Quentien (7th century) is said to have seen... A past tinged with mystery that can be explored by visiting the 13th-century church and the late 18th-early 19th-century washhouse, fed by the Quintien fountain, where many women once came to cure their children of fever or whooping cough. Lieusaint is also home to the Varâtre farm, which has been awarded the "Heritage of General Interest" label.
