Martainville-Épreville is located about fifteen kilometers from Rouen. It is really its castle that makes the reputation of the town. In its superb building, it houses the museum of Norman arts and traditions and its 15,000 exhibited works. See also the two churches. The first one, the church of Martainville-sur-Ry, was built in the 17th century. The second, the church of Épreville-sur-Ry, also dates from the 17th century and is dedicated to Saint Ouen. Note that Martainville-Épreville was the birthplace of the painter and engraver François-Gabriel-Théodore Basset de Jolimont (1787-1854).
