Rioz should be pronounced as "Rio", as the final "z" is silent, as in most Franche-Comté names and place names ending in " ez " or " oz ". The town's heritage includes the Chapelle Saint-Roch and the fountains, most of which date from the 19th century. Rioz was once famous for its earthenware and original, highly decorative products. A listed campsite is located close to the lake, which is a renowned fishing spot. A mini-golf course, a fitness trail and numerous hiking trails enable you to discover this Haute-Saône village. Every year, Rioz hosts a carnival, one of the most popular in Franche-Comté.
