We are in the presence of a forced merger of 2 municipalities. The President of the Republic, Raymond Poincaré, decided in 1914 to expel the inhabitants of Villedieu to carry out the extension of the military camp of Valdahon. In the Middle Ages, the site was a commandery of the Templar Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. However, this marriage allowed the acquisition of 75 ha of forest, which makes the place preserved.
