20 min from Besançon on the N57 on the Jura plateau. The mere mention of Valdahon must bring back certain memories to those who did their national service in the5th Dragoon Regiment, whose camp was founded in 1907. Today it is occupied by the 13th Engineer Regiment. The town itself, with a population of about 5,000, is above all a town of passage. With the reform of the national service, there are far fewer soldiers than before. But there are some good places to stop for lunch. However, the church of Saint-Michel, the Brachotte chapel and the water lily pond of the Lièze are worth seeing.
