The Auvézère River flows through 6.5 km of the commune, giving it its distinctive character. The water and its power enabled the installation of forges as early as 1521. Today owned by the Conseil départemental, they can be visited with a guide all year round. Visitors are free to take the discovery trail around the Forge, and enjoy a pleasant stroll through the shady, riverside landscape. The forge is overlooked by the privately-owned Renaissance château. Downstream, the river is the starting point for canoeing and kayaking.
