"Jougne, the last stop before the Swiss border. Labelled as a "Cité de caractère BFC", it is a stopover not to be missed as the village has a very special character. Built on a ridge, the village has an impressive number of ashlar buildings, designed historically to withstand the harshest of winters as well as to shamelessly display the wealth of the area to the Swiss neighbours. The steep streets of the village are full of architectural surprises, such as the Rue de l'Église, which is crowned by a stone arch bearing the local coat of arms. In less than half an hour, a change of scenery is guaranteed.
