There, the watercourse begins its long journey: first natural border with Switzerland, before making a frank incursion into Switzerland then a definitive return in France to form the loop of Besançon and finish its own race in Burgundy, by throwing into the Saône. A few metres away, you are waiting for a real natural curiosity, the Mouthe bog, a sorte marsh that formed in the cold ages. It is a very fragile and unstable ecosystem, hence the ban on venturing off the marked trails.
