Merfy is a wine-growing commune in the Saint-Thierry massif. It has 46 hectares of vines, mostly pinot meunier and chardonnay, and some twenty growers. Of all the churches in the area, the church of Saint-Sébastien de Merfy, built in 1515, is the one that possesses the most remarkable treasures, pieces that came from the church of Villers-Saint-Anne: a flamboyant gothic armchair from the 15th century as well as an altarpiece from the 16th century representing the apostles. The damage caused by the Great War on its bell tower required a restoration in the 1920s, but the choir beams are still original
