PLAZA DE TOROS DE LA MALAGUETA (BULLRING)
Read moreRather classical, they date from the th century and present the Taurin museum Antonio Ordónez. The first bullring of the city were built at the end of the th century near the convent of the. They were in wood, as were the many following, in the heart of a neighbourhood close to the harbour, where there were wine warehouses of the famous Heredia society. Historians report that this taurin building was destroyed for fear of fire. Plazas built afterwards did not, however, make a long fire. In 1849, the new arrival was installed near the convent of San Francisco, now extinct. The arenas were stone and could accommodate 12 000 spectators, and their owner demolished them in 1864 for dark political reasons. A new plaza is built, near the sea, with the possibility of welcoming more than 9 000 spectators, this time is the right one, the plaza de la Malagueta was born, and opened in 1876, with a bullfighting of Murube for Antonio Carmona El Gordito, and Lagartijo, the stars of the moment.

ALCAZABA
Read moreIt is the main tourist attraction of Almería. After the Alhambra of Granada, it is the largest of the citadels built by the Arabs in the Iberian Peninsula and probably one of the most beautiful Andalusian fortresses because of its construction and its location on a hill from where you can superbly overlook the whole city, the medina and the modest district of La Chanca with its colourful facades. Looking at the Mediterranean horizon from the towers, we can better understand why the city became the most important sea exit from Al-Andalus. The Alcazaba was built by Abd al-Rahman III in 955, transformed and enlarged by Al-Mansur and then by Hayran, the first independent Emir of Almeria. It has three enclosures, two of Muslim design and a third of Christian origin. It was abandoned in the 19th century and restored in 1950. The visit of the first enclosure allows you to cross a whole area of very pleasant gardens with fragrant plants. In total, the tour includes 19 points that will introduce you to the Casa del Alcalde, built at the beginning of the 20th century by Prieto Moreno as a romantic tribute to the Alhambra, as well as Muslim casas reconstructed to evoke their domestic aspect and permanent exhibition sites. Both are located in the second enclosure and next to it you will find something to refresh yourself. Allow two hours for this visit. It can be completed by an ascent to the hillside of San Cristobal, the best viewpoint in the city.

PLACE ALAMEDA DE HÉRCULES
Read moreThe place de la Alameda de Hércules is an undeniable promenade in Seville. Alameda means «walk». Hercules, for his part, would be according to legend the founder of the city. We owe this place to the Count of Barajas who, in 1574, planted deciduous trees and built beautiful fountains on ancient marshy lands. He had erected two columns from the Roman temple of rue Mármoles, which were crowned with sculptures by Julius Caesar and Hercules. The other two columns, with lions bearing a shield, were formed in the second half of the eighteenth century. Today, the Alameda is one of the liveliest neighborhoods in Seville thanks to its bars and cafés that encircle the square. Its bohemian atmosphere makes it unique.

The famous Puertas de Tierra are still visible: these towers were built between 1639 and the mid-18th century. Vauban, who created the defensive system of Cádiz, reinforced it with several forts and bastions, some of which can still be seen (the castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina, the latter of which can be visited).
