At Thonnard, we have specialized for ages in the cultivation and processing of angelica. The liqueur herb, a true specialty of Niort, is enjoyed in syrup, jam, candied fruit or cream. The house chocolates with angelica are very famous. The institution opens the doors of its production site in Niort (and its store) to individuals and groups, visits followed by a tasting session. Gilles and Etienne de Conti, two cousins from a family of Bergeracese winemakers, manufacture their organic beers in a small building which, as a decoration, has planted two feet of hops. After a lot of commotion around the world, they had the idea of creating their own beer in the wine country. The name Lapépie comes from a local expression: it means that we are thirsty… Brune, blonde or blonde beers are made from natural products: water, organic malt, hops, yeast and sugar. They are fresh with a very mild bitterness and easily marry with all the dishes.

We had to dare… Florence Boyer-Rey, from Sarrazac, did so. She left the school at Sarlat's professional school to pick up her aunt's grocery store, which had exploited her for 40 years and then sold to two other people. The young woman only works with local producers: Laupilière farm for duck, Ferme farm for pork and veal, Le Délice de Lionel pour le boeuf, Florence Coste for chickens, Chaminade Vergers for fruit, Sisters Nicolas for organic vegetables, and every Thursday batch of fresh fish. Bread is provided by two Bakers bakers. Florence Boyer-Rey offers vegetable and/or meat season baskets on the weekend. She also manufactures her own jams with the region's fruits and complemented them with some decorating ideas. On Sunday morning, in July and August, a producer will have a free taste of the region's products.

In 1755, the Intendant de Tourny decided to establish a branch of the Grand-Marché on the Place du Parlement. It was named the Royal Market. It was then moved to the Quai des Salinières and finally moved to the Place Saint-Michel in 1960. Well-known to neighborhood regulars at the traffic circle next to other food shops, Baskifornia bakery, formerly La Licorne, has undergone quite a facelift since the change of ownership in June 2022, when it moved to Biarritz with Le fournil de la Baleine. For over 70 years, Château Bellegrave wines have been cultivated by the Bouldy family with respect and love for the vines. In 2001, Jean-Marie Bouldy, the second generation, began converting the estate to organic farming in order to preserve the qualities of this special terroir.
