The building dates back to 1741 and is protected by Gérard Lhuillier. He's the guardian of a dying craft. Every day, he shapes a daily loaf, a seigneur, in the old-fashioned way. Country, rye, wholemeal, sweet loaves, meture, those round cornmeal loaves much loved by old and young alike. With milk and free-range eggs, he also creates delicious shortbread for young and old, miches, aniseed cakes and Basque cakes of all sizes... He is the guarantor of tradition and know-how.
