Three days, three hundred authors and one guest of honour, animations throughout the city, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, literary awards, youth lounge and of course signing sessions, this is the formula. The fair in Limoges does not have the reputation of its briviste neighbour but, with its 60 000 visitors, it is one of the ten largest book fairs in France and is the occasion for a great deal of meetings.

Hestiv'Òc is a total immersion in Occitan culture, showcasing its language, music, dance and traditions. To the rhythm of local music and dance, local and international groups perform on stage, offering a variety of styles, from traditional folk to contemporary music. You won't be able to resist getting up and dancing to the sound of accordions, tambourines and fiddles. The philosophy remains to offer free shows, and to encourage eco-responsible gestures such as car-pooling and reusable cups. A flagship event for southern cultures, including the Béarnaise, to experience from the inside!

Real hot spots in Angouleme, one celebrate the fortieth edition in 2015. The event impelled by Christian Mousset did not cease being reinvented and increasing. The festival is a three days ode to the African music scenes, caribéennes, of Latin America, Indian Ocean and others still. Popular music with a more contemporary scene, the accent is put on the love of life and the original bringings together between cultures. With the image of this food-together, the festival ones are of all the horizons, of all the ages and the atmosphere at the village is only more cordial and family.

A myriad of stands border the village whose entrance is free: record dealers, tasty and international catering facilities, stands of reading, relaxation areas... ideal for the children and the activities in day. The night, the concerts make turn the heads and wiggle the public. Great names made their first French scene in Angouleme: Salif Keita, Johnny Clegg, Cesária Évora, Khaled, Cheb Mami, Kassav'... and of the hundred artists are invited each year, tops of the bill like IAM for the year 2015 or new talents which will undoubtedly gain a new public on the scene of the festival. The festival also opens to other public with the festival "out of walls", meetings literary or storytellers, workshops musical with the children, ambulations are organized in Angouleme and in its region to extend the magic of the festival to it.

Every summer, for one week, the Festival in the village makes Brioux-sur-Boutonne and its surroundings vibrate. Listed as a theatrical event, it offers around sixty shows of all kinds, including a traditional circus headliner: dance, readings, concerts, street arts, etc. A programme as rich as qualitative to be found under the central tent, deployed on the Champ-de-Foire square, but also in various cultural places, church, Corderie... Food and drink of course, but also a lot of eco-responsible activities to discover with your family.

Since this summer festival has taken on an almost unexpected dimension, why not get back to the winter. Since 2000, the organizers have had the right idea to offer a second season of life at this event at a time when the game is in the centre of all tastes: Christmas. This time the festival does not span over a week like during the summer period, but it brings back to the front of the scene items that could find themselves at the foot of the tree a few weeks later. The animation lasts only the weekend with the presentation of traditional games and, technology compelling, video games with Saturday a great wanderings in the medieval maze of the city where all those who wish can wear candlelight.

In Ivry, the territory has blues, and blues. This festival offers for four days master classes, but also for the initiations of the children's blues as well as music and, of course, concerts with musicians from all over the world and gathered by their passion for this music from the work songs that we heard in the cotton fields.

Organized by the winegrowers of the Côtes de Duras, these two days mix pleasure, sharing and good mood under the aegis of the AOC. The festivities begin on Saturday with a rugby match and a meal with music in the village. On Sunday, the wine fair is held from 10 am with induction by the Maréchalat des Côtes de Duras. Concerts and animations for children punctuate the day, before the sound and light show projected on the facade of the castle in the evening. Brought with passion for over ten years by the Film directors Society, the Rencontres du Moyen de Brive have an important reputation in France and in the Cinema world. They are supported by many partners (the City, the Department, the Limousin Region, the Ministry of Culture (DRAC), the CNC, as well as by private companies. A unique festival in Europe to be entirely devoted to the free format of the medium film (length between 30 and 60 minutes), the event aims to promote exchanges between the public and professionals around a very varied programming: more than one hundred projections, a competition of recent films, tributes, school programming, round tables, a film concert, but also public-teams meetings around an aperitif, educational workshops in the image, debates of rare works… Time of thematic and Retrospective is also very popular with the public: previously devoted to Olivera Manuel or Peter Watkins, Agnès Varda or Japanese filmmaker Koji Wakamatsu, in 2016 Chantal Akerman and Apichatpong Weerasethakul were in Honour.

The ^3rd edition of the Festival Ciné-Notes, which takes place at the Grand Théâtre, was cancelled in 2020 because of the coronavirus. It was dedicated to "Monsters and Creatures" with Jean-Jacques Annaud as guest of honor. On the program was a symphonic concert, but also an exceptional film-concert of E.T. the Extra-terrestrial by Steven Spielberg with the sublime music of John Williams live. To open the festival, some of the greatest film music should have been performed by the Bordeaux Aquitaine National Orchestra: Gremlins, Les Dents de la mer, Jurassic Park, Frankenstein, La Mouche, La Belle et le Bête... This festival covers a wide range of very famous films with emblematic music, but also several eras of cinema, thus reaching a vast audience, both novice and music-lover. The programme also includes film lectures, film screenings with musical introductions, a jazz concert, etc.

Since 1990, storytelling, in all its diversity and magic, has delighted Capbreton's inhabitants for 4 days. This festival places particular emphasis on young audiences. Mixing imagination with inspiration from travels and encounters, the storytellers imbue the town with the magic of their words. Four days of wonder await young and old at every street corner. The ^35th edition of this festival is sure to be a great escape! Be sure to visit the village in the MOP garden.

Like every year, this festival kicks off the summer season in La Rochelle. Attached to the city, it allows moviegoers to attend retrospectives dedicated to directors or actors who have passed away with their work programmed in its entirety: Orson Welles, Buster Keaton, John Ford, Luchino Visconti... During 10 days, the spectators go in front of one of the screens to enjoy one of the 5 daily sessions. This year, the 50th La Rochelle Cinema Festival celebrates the golden age of Hollywood cinema with the inevitable Audrey Hepburn.

This jazz festival enchants music lovers and transforms the Lighthouse into a surprising musical scene. Once again, the festival welcomed many musicians with more than 30 concerts during 5 days. We find accomplished artists such as Ibrahim Maaalouf or Véronique Sanson accompanied by a large orchestra. But the bias of this festival is also to put forward young talents with the competition "Jazz ConneXion" which aims to bring to the forefront of the stage jazz talents from New Aquitaine.

For more than 20 years now, jazz has been making the capital of the island vibrate! In the heart of August, in the summer torpor, the notes of jazz resound during three nights in the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Free concerts allow the greatest number of people to fully enjoy this music, all in a friendly atmosphere. All styles are present, offering a beautiful diversity!

Every year, Sarlat celebrates its fetish animal: noisy flocks of geese cavort through the medieval city, wandering between the stands where they taste the famous carcass soup (a true local tradition) offered to all to warm up. In a festive atmosphere, under the baton of a banda, foie gras cutting and making workshops are programmed in the presence of careful farmers and craftsmen eager to share their passion. But Sarlat Fest'oie wouldn't be Sarlat Fest'oie without its grand banquet, the Bodeg'oie.

The Festival of Baroque Theater in the Black Perigord is organized by the Oghmac Company. A week of discovery of this very particular theater. This company of theatrical and musical creations revives the baroque theater and its repertoire according to its tradition. Their research leads them to work on diction and gestures, as well as costumes. Finally, under a covered market, on a village square or in a castle courtyard, they offer shows performed by candlelight

The 8th edition of Mars Planète Danse offers four evenings composed of nine pieces in order to see dance in a different way, as a constellation of shows that opens on different universes and makes the imagination work. Hip-hop, circus, contemporary dance put on stage different horizons of the choreographic art. For over thirty years, the Service départemental de la lecture (SDL) has been organizing a storytelling festival. It features renowned storytellers from all over the world, as well as theater companies and professional musicians. The storytellers become tellers of mysterious, funny and moving stories, inspired by dreams or reality. The shows, which are free of charge, tour some forty towns in the département. This festival is a not-to-be-missed event in the Charente, eagerly awaited by all audiences!

For a long weekend, the street arts - including theater, music, circus arts and visual arts - take over the town of Rions. An ideal medieval setting for this event dedicated to the arts. For its^2nd edition, the Biarritz festival aims above all to reveal the cinematic talents of tomorrow, and put the spotlight on the work of budding, emerging and established filmmakers. For 5 days, a jury of artists under the age of 35 will share with the public theatrical and open-air screenings, concerts, exhibitions and meetings with guests of honor. The festival may just be the place to discover the great filmmakers of tomorrow.
