It has become a tradition in Marmande in August: the opera is honored with a singing competition with an international reputation.

The Festival d'art lyrique de Marmande has become a not-to-be-missed summer event. Every year, a great classical opera is performed. puccini's "Madame Butterfly" has been chosen for the 2024 edition. The lead roles will be held by former winners of the international singing competition, whose 36ᵉ edition will be held in 2024. On the program: two days of pre-selection rounds, semi-finals and finals. Several recitals also take place in the surrounding villages.
